The Walpole Computer Foundation welcomes new members at any time! Currently,
several specific volunteer opportunities exist:
Las Vegas Night Fundraiser Committee
This committee plans this WCF
town-wide fundraiser that is usually held in January. Most of the
groundwork for the event is done in the fall with final preparation
taking place during
January. This is popular event and there is a great need for volunteers
to work on various committees including: pre-event planning and publicity,
raffle
donations, decorations, staffing of game tables and staffing the
event.
Advisory Board
Commit for at least two years to serve as WCF representative
to Advisory Board. Board meets once/year, usually at end of October,
to review proposals and award grants Must be able to attend meeting
from 3:00 PM into
evening on day of annual Board meeting. Must review all project proposals
prior to meeting. Three WCF members are needed each year.
Golf Committee
The WCF has a well established golf committee, however volunteers
are needed to assist on the day of the event.
Membership Committee
Recruit new members, speak at PAC meetings, etc.
Bylaws Committee
Review original bylaws, get input from WCF Executive Committee,
make recommendations for change, rewrite bylaws, find legal advisor
to assure all issues are covered.
Clerk/Secretary
Record and distribute summaries of minutes of full
membership meetings, coordinate mailing of thank you letters to donors
after fundraisers, share general correspondence duties with WCF President,
check
WCF PO Box every 1-2 weeks.
Grants Committee
Research and apply for corporate, federal and/or state
grants.
Web Site Committee
Several volunteers are involved in administration of
the web site. Ongoing review and enhancement opportunities also exist.
